I was in Singapore for the weekend. Along Balestier Road I saw this Cobler working hard and paused to take his picture. In order to get this shot, I had to get pretty close to him with the Ricoh's 28 mm lens. But he ignored me and let me photograph him.
There are still a few street coblers in Singapore plying their trade, but it is a trade that is fast disapearing. Most if not all of these coblers are already very old. Very soon Singapore will not have anymore street coblers to provide us cheap and good shoe mending service.
