However in fast developing Singapore, the gradual disappearance of wet markets have caused a stir amongst the heartlanders to save a "heritage" of Singapore.
As the younger generation prefer to shop in air-conditioned super and hypermarkets, wet market stall holders find in difficult to compete in price and comfort against supermarkets who get bulk discounts and offer the same freshness as wet markets.
Will the same fate happen to Macau?
